Face Treatments

Beautiful, healthy skin doesn’t just happen. Environmental toxins, lifestyle, heredity and aging can create problem conditions that even the best at-home treatments won’t fix. If you are troubled by stubborn acne or acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage, premature aging or medical conditions like unsightly varicose veins or rosacea.

Botox

Botox is most commonly used in the glabellar muscle to erase frown lines between the eyebrows. It’s also used on the horizontal lines on the forehead, for crow’s feet around the eyes, and it can be used on the muscle that bring down the corner of the mouth and the neck. Its result lasts for three to four months. The procedure is quick and it takes 20-30 minutes, so it can be done on a lunch hour, and requires no down time.

When injected properly by a trained dermatologist or medical doctor, BOTOX is safe. Because only specific muscles are targeted, your face will not be paralyzed, and you can still make facial expressions. On top of this, you will not look like you’ve had “work done.” You’ll just look like a younger version of yourself!

The downside to BOTOX is that the results are temporary. Depending on where the treatments are located, it can last anywhere from four to six months. If used to treat excessive sweating, the results will last around six months; less if the treatments are done to combat facial lines and wrinkles. if it has been used to combat excessive sweating. However, these problems are temporary and usually go away within a week.

Fillers

Injectable wrinkle fillers can give you a more youthful look for a fraction of what a traditional facelift costs. Most will fill lines and wrinkles in less than 30 minutes with results that can last from 4 months to more than a year.Injectable wrinkle fillers, unlike Botox injections that relax the muscle under a wrinkle, fill the line, crease, or area with one of several different substances. As a result, trouble spots nearly disappear.

Wrinkle fillers can also be used as "volumizers," plumping and lifting cheeks, jawlines, and temples; filling out thin lips, and plumping sagging hands. The treatment is fast and easy. But all wrinkle fillers have a downside, including the risk of allergic reaction and the formation of tiny bumps under the skin. In some cases, those bumps may be permanent. And sometimes, a bluish skin discoloration known as the Tyndall effect happens. The color change can last for several months, but there are treatments available. In very rare cases, skin cells may die if the wrinkle fillers are not used properly. There have also been a few reported cases of blindness and nerve paralysis. Typically, the wrinkle fillers that last longer are the ones more likely to cause side effects.

Thread Face Lift

Due to the unique design of the specially designed soft barbs or cogs of the threads, the surrounding tissues act to hold the threads in place without the need for visible scars. For the mid-face procedure, the surgeon makes a tiny incision close to the ear and the threads are advanced along the previously marked contours toward the chin and jaw line, thus creating a firm hold on the underlying tissues without causing additional trauma. The barbs or cogs do the work of holding, by being fixated to tissue as they are softly contoured into place.

Threads are ideally suited for younger and middle aged patients whose skin tone has started to become lax with time or sun damage and who don't want or are unable to have a traditional face-lift. Patients are assessed individually for their suitability.

The procedure is safe and effective when performed by a medical practitioner who has been trained in these types of procedures. Threads can be used alone or to complement other facial surgery and non-invasive procedures such as IPL, Botox or injectable Dermal Fillers.

A standard procedure (4-6 threads minimum per side) takes approximately 30-60 minutes.
